A We Are Care care professional

What you can expect

We pay every two weeks, on a set schedule. No waiting a month to be paid for shifts you've worked.

Every carer we engage is paid fairly: transparent rates, no hidden fees, paid directly, with holiday pay included in your hourly rate and a workplace pension where eligible.

No sign-up fees, no holiday-pay games, no costs taken out without explanation. What you see is what you're paid.

Engaged and paid directly by us (PAYE), not passed through an umbrella company. Holiday pay included in your hourly rate, plus a workplace pension where eligible.

You choose the shifts that fit your life. Pick up more when you want them, fewer when you don't.

Why work with We Are Care

Built around carers, not in spite of them.

01

Fair pay, every shift

Transparent rates shown before you accept a shift. No mystery deductions, no hidden costs.

02

Coordinators who know your name

Real human team that picks up the phone. We grow slowly enough to keep relationships, not just rota slots.

03

Pathways, not just placements

Training, progression and real career routes, for those who want to grow into senior carer, team lead, and beyond.

04

Tech that helps, not hassles

Shifts via WhatsApp. Pay slips you can actually read. Compliance reminders that make sense. We built it for our own carers first.

From our team

Why people stay.

I was at Byron Court yesterday and I really missed Ava. It reminded me how much joy it brings me to work with her. You have no idea how much I truly love those moments. Ava really does me so much good. It's hard to explain, but every time I'm with her I leave feeling so happy and peaceful. We truly bring out the best in each other. I get to step into her world, which is so much more interesting than ours, and she gives me a sense of calm. She's so loving, and even without words she teaches me so much. I feel very lucky to work with her. Silmara · Care worker · Dignus , Byron

Common carer questions

Questions, answered straight.

Usually a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on your documents and any training you still need. We'll tell you exactly what's outstanding and help you work through it.

Not always. Some roles need prior experience, others we can support you into through training. Register and we'll be honest about what fits.

Care assistants, senior carers, support workers and registered nurses, across care homes, supported living, children's residential and home care.

Yes. You choose the shifts that fit your life and pick up more or fewer as you need. We work around you, not the other way round.

Every two weeks, at fair rates shown before you accept a shift. Directly engaged and paid via PAYE, with holiday pay and pension where eligible, and a payslip you can actually read.

If you're new to care or missing required training, we'll guide you through what's needed before placement. Training and progression are a core part of what we're building. Our Workforce Pathways programme is expanding through 2026.

Yes. Real routes into senior carer, team lead and beyond, with training and support along the way rather than empty promises.

We're a social enterprise built around carers: fair pay, real coordinators who know your name, genuine progression, and technology built for you first.

Shifts come to you simply, including via WhatsApp, with the rate and details up front. Accept the ones that work for you.

No. Working with adults at risk is regulated activity, so we place you only once your enhanced DBS, including the adults' barred list check, is complete and verified. There are no exceptions.

We don't offer visa sponsorship. You'll need the right to work in the UK.
