England's dementia overhaul
Charities are pressing for a cancer-style national effort on dementia, and the government is recruiting a national dementia tsar reporting to the Health and Social Care Secretary, with applications closing on 8 October. Diagnosis capacity is starting to move: a UK-first brain health clinic opened on 21 September. An 18-week referral-to-treatment target has been reported but not confirmed by government.
